Dawn Engler is thankful to have been introduced to the complicated, yet expressive language of music at a young age. Although she began learning music fundamentals on piano, the flute has been her love since the sixth grade. Her appreciation for the flute has grown since then with each year of study.
Mrs. Engler studied flute under Sharon Sparrow, assistant principal flutist with Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Elizabeth Rowe, principal flutist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She holds a B.S. in Music Education from Grace College and a State of Indiana Teacher’s License in music all-grade/all-area. Dawn has been teaching music students of all ages and abilities now for over twenty years, sharing her passion for beautiful music by providing flute lessons, piano lessons, and other beginner instrumental lessons.

In addition to maintaining a home music studio, Mrs. Engler also directs a community flute choir she helped establish in 2012 called Water's Edge Flute Ensemble. In addition to her musical pursuits, Dawn works as an elementary music teacher within the Warsaw Community School system. As a soloist, she enjoys sharing her musical abilities with local churches, schools, community groups, and wedding ceremonies. Dawn has also performed with several ensembles including the Grace Community Orchestra, in which she was also a featured soloist, Lake Area Community Band, Maple City Chamber Orchestra, Grace College Wind Ensemble, Wagon Wheel Theatre, and regularly performs as a member of the Gentle Winds Trio and Symphony of the Lakes.
Dawn and her husband, Joshua, reside in Winona Lake, and are parents of three children, Katharine, Renée, and Kurt.
